ABOUT US

Tutor teaching young person motorbike mechanics

Our approach

We remove the barriers to learning through an individually focused approach in small classes with high tutor to student ratios.

Our classes are taught by industry professionals who create and deliver dynamic, hands on lessons that are both practical and designed specifically to meet the requirements of young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Our unique approach to learning has resulted in transformative outcomes for our students, both in hard skills in their chosen careers, and soft skills that have helped them thrive in life.

We are in constant conversation with our clients and referrers, and look forward to discussing your needs further.

Our HISTORY

The Avalon Project, formerly known as The Silverdale Motorcycle Project, was founded in 1980 by two-time British Motocross champion Vic Allen MBE and Camden Council’s Integrated Youth Support Service. The project was based in a small tenants hall on the Silverdale estate and the project was primarily used as an early intervention and diversion tool for vulnerable young people and youth offenders.

The project has now moved to bigger premises and has expanded the curriculum and broadened our reach, we are a Camden Council project but work with children from all London boroughs.

The Avalon Project has worked with thousands of young people over the last 40 years, offering unique opportunities for those looking for practical skills in motorcycle mechanics.
